  Dr. Silva Review Tuesday, August 15, 2017 I am exercising my First Amendment right; this is my belief and opinion. I honestly wish I was writing about how great a dentist Richard Silva is. Richard Silva DDS is the worst dental person I have ever used. I have had Registered Dental Assistants fit crowns better than Richard Silva. My honest advice: if you walk into his office and feel uneasy walk out! And feel good about it. If you feel uneasy about anything in his office get up and walk out. And feel good about it. I wished I had. Silva installed several crowns in my mouth and with every crown my bite got worse. And my teeth hurt more. If you use him please pay attention as to how much pain you have after he completes his work and how long it lasts. Please note if other teeth soon start hurting. Please note if your bite changes and it gets harder to eat. I believe if a dental person gets a crown a little off, it can cause other teeth to hurt and mess up your bite and chewing ability. When he worked on me, not only did the teeth he worked on hurt, but it caused other teeth to hurt. He ground on teeth other than the ones he put crowns on. I have had crowns fitted before and they were the only ones that were ground on; no other teeth got ground on (adjusted). He put four crowns on me. I don’t think any of them fit properly. You know your own bite. You have had it for years. If it changes you know it better than any dental person. I believe the carbon paper (articulating dental paper) test is a dental tool that is fallible. I believe it takes some advanced training to use this method to properly fit crowns. I quit after the 4th crown. He wanted me to come back so he could do some more adjusting. Adjusting is grinding teeth down. Use your own common sense; if they grind down a tooth or two to make them fit, it will cause other teeth to be too high in relation to the teeth they grind on. If the crowns were fit properly in the first place there is no need to grind on other teeth. I believe If your bite is OK; the only crown they should be adjusting (grinding on) is the one they are installing. I think he is very cold and calloused. He said he thinks he was predestined to be a dentist. And he says he thinks he’s a good dentist. I think he’s delusional. His prices are low for a reason. You just might wind up spending more money elsewhere, after he finishes. I urge you to take my advice and search for dental treatment elsewhere. I also caution you about taking out a Loan. He gets the money from the loan and uses it to cover your dental treatments; whether they are good or bad he gets his money and you are left paying it off. I am still paying off a loan for the worst dentistry I have ever had and I can’t afford to have his work redone. Like I said, for my sake and his, I wish I was singing his praises. I am exercising my First Amendment right; this is my belief and opinion.
